  You can choose your mood and attract the woman you want. Flirting can make you feel good and you do need to feel good to be a great flirt.  Does that sound circular? It is.

  This is a story about Jim and how he was able to change his thoughts that changed his day.

  "Damn rain,"  Jim muttered as he stared out of his bedroom window. His hangover seemed to match the day. Coffee will make me feel better, he thought. he heaved himself out of bed, put on his sloppy sweatshirt and went to the refrigerator.

  "Damn," he said when he saw he was out of coffee. "Why does this have to happen to me? The last thing I feel like doing is going out." But then, as he looked through the kitchen window, he said to himself, "it's only rain after all, and I sure need a coffee." He knew he could either sulk around at home all day or just accept the rain and walk to the coffee shop. He made a quick decision. He pulled on his jeans and sneakers and got his coat and umbrella from the closet.

  It was better outside than he had imagined. The air was fresh with the scent of wet gardens and the rain made music on the leaves. The cafe was busy when he arrived but there was a table by the door. He claimed it with his coat and umbrella and went to the counter.

  "A skinny latte please," he said to the good-looking woman taking the orders. She smiled and repeated the order to the girl operating the coffee machine. She said to Jim, "Isn't this a perfect day to sit reading the papers, sipping coffee?" Yes, I guess it is," he relied, "once you accept the weather and just get out of the house."

  Jim took his latte back to the table. The coffee smelt great, and tasted even better. The cheerful sound of chatting filled the cafe. When he thought about what the woman at the counter had said, his mood shifted. He realized that he appreciated days like this. He had time to himself and the weather couldn't dampen his mood, unless he let it. He was doing what he enjoyed.

  Jim story illustrates how we can change our mood, attitude or state of mind. How we think and feel depends upon what we focus on. Do you have your mood or does your mood have you?

  I should tell you that Jim asked the woman at the counter out. She said yes and gave Jim her number. Jim was and had been working on his State of Mind.
